Using Light in Public Art

The Biennial of the Americans featured an incredible light and music event Saturday, Sept 29, that rocked Denver’s Civic Center Park. Sonic Design Studio based in Bogota, Colombia is a team of sound and laser designers, biologists, and musicians collaborating to bring awareness to the ‘rapidly disappearing Amazon rain forest’ (Westword 25 September 2019).

This enormous project called “Jaguara” featured one of the largest digital light projection ever, projecting it onto the City & County building, with a fabulous musical concert of Latin sounds that made it difficult to stand still without dancing.

Huge congratulations to this years Biennial team, you smashed it out of the park commissioning this great project for our City!
